Simple Hello Dahlia Card

Simple Hello Dahlia up close

This card is very clean and simple.  It literally took less than 10 minutes from start to finish to create it.

I don’t know about you, but I just love the stamp set Regarding  Dahlias.  It is a very versatile stamp set that can be used for many occasions.  The set includes a large flower and several greetings.  For this card I simply used the hello you stamp, and I punched it out with the 1 3/4” circle punch.  I love the extra detail added simply by piercing a circle design around the black circle.

Thanks for stopping by today, and be sure to come back tomorrow to see this simple card stepped up with a few changes.

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop – Day 10

» 19 August, 2013 » 3-D Projects, Artisan, My Digital Studio » 0 comments

Thanks for joining me for the final day of the 2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop.  I’m so excited to show you my favorite project from the contest.

Today I’m showing you my final 3-D project.  I purchased a 10 x 10 clock base at the store, and painted it red. Then I created the front in My Digital Studio.  Then I added the clock hands to the center.

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop Day 10

The clock was the last project I made before shipping everything off so I was down to the wire to get it shipped in time.  In the rush to get everything in the mail I didn’t get a very good picture.  So the clock you are looking at is a replication of the one I sent to Stampin’ Up!  The one slight difference between this clock and the one I submitted is that I used larger black clock hands on this one.  I really wish I had seen these clock hands when I made the original as they really give it a special touch and coordinate better than the gold ones I used on the original.

I hope you have enjoyed following our hop the past 10 days.  I’m sad that it is over, but I won’t be for long because the Artisan Finalists will be continuing a blog hop every other Monday starting August 26th. We are calling it the Monday Montage Blog Hop, so be sure to come back next Monday to check it out.

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop – Day 9

» 18 August, 2013 » Artisan, Big Shot, Cards » 0 comments

Welcome to Day 9 of the Artisan Finalist Blog Hop.

Today I’m showing the last card entry I used for the Artisan Contest.

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop Day 9

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop Day 9 inside

I started by dry embossing the edge on the front of the card, and I added the strips of DSP before cutting out the front window.  Then I closed the card and decided where I wanted to place the butterflies and greeting.  I stamped them in Versamark, and then I heat embossed in Whisper White embossing powder.  I did the emboss resist technique by using different inks with a sponge around the embossed image so that the butterflies show up.  I finished by embossing the greeting in Melon Mambo ink and adding a few pearls to the butterflies.

Check out what Elizabeth has to share today by clicking next, and be sure to come back tomorrow for the final day of our blog hop.  I saved the best for last.

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop – Day 8

Thanks for joining me for the Artisan Finalist Blog Hop.  Can you believe it’s already Day 8? My, how time flies when you’re having fun!

This is one of my 3-d Projects.  I had so much fun creating this hybrid framed Subway Art.  I used MDS to make the Subway art and printed it out from my home printer on Whisper White Cardstock.  Then I just went to town adding all kinds of bling, buttons, and brads. I also created a few rosettes to add to the frame using the Simply Scored.

Thanks for joining me Day 4 of the 2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop.  I’m excited to share another scrapbook page with you today.

This 12×12 layout was made in My Digital Studio using the You’re My Sunshine Digital Kit.  The layout was one of the quickest projects I made to enter for Artisan.  The kit made it so easy to pick out coordinating dsp to use.  My best friend, Cady and her husband, Cooper are my subjects here. These are some of the pictures they took during their engagement.

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop – Day 3

» 12 August, 2013 » Artisan, Scrapbooking » 0 comments

It’s Day 3 of the 2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop.

Today I’m sharing an 8×8 scrapbook page.  This page features the daughters of one of my sweet customer friends.  Doesn’t she take great photos!  I just love how she captured such  a precious moment.

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop

I decided to use the Core’dinations card stock for the background in Primrose Petals.  I used the Borders Scoring Plate to add some texture at the bottom of the layout.  Then I sanded the border and various areas of the page to give it a distressed look.  The flowers are from the Secret Garden stamp set. Then I added accessories from the Artisan Embellishments Kit.

This was page was one of my last minute projects to finish before it had to be mailed off, so in the rush to get all the pictures taken I forgot to get one of the journaling.  Basically, I cut the mat for the picture twice the size that I needed, and I folded it to create a hidden journaling section.

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out everyone else’s projects for the day.

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop – Day 2

» 11 August, 2013 » Artisan, Cards » 0 comments

Welcome to Day 2 of the Artisan Finalist Blog Hop.  Weren’t the creations from Day 1 fabulous?!!!  I feel honored to be a part of such a talented group of ladies.

Today I’m showing a card that really challenged me.  Although, I love seeing all kinds of punch art creations, I have a difficult time creating them myself.  It couldn’t possibly have anything to do with me being a perfectionist. ; )

I really like the way it turned out, and I was extremely excited when I realized the Large Rhinestones were the perfect size for the headlights.  I also enjoyed using the Design Type photopolymer stamps to create the license plate and the little border near the bottom of the card.  Since the stamps are clear, lining them up is a piece of cake!

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop – Day 1

» 10 August, 2013 » Artisan, Cards » 0 comments

Thanks for joining me for the Artisan Finalist Blog Hop.  I’m so excited to finally be able to share my projects with you over the next 10 days.

Today I’m showing off one of my favorites from my five card entries.

At first glance you may think the background of this card is just a piece of DSP, but it’s not.  I used a piece of the grid design paper from the Fan Fair DSP collection, and then stamped various images from the Postage Due stamp set all over the background. Then I made a “ruffle” using a strip of paper from another sheet of Fan Fair DSP.

Up next is Elizabeth Price. Hop on over to check out her awesome entries!

I used the hostess set Mixed Medley, and I used Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP.
